I dont think you are harassing them enough...
If you are in warranty the battery (even the replacement) should be in reasonable state.. How could it b eat over 300 cycles in a short time?
I asked Apple what their pixel policy was when buying a 30" Cinema Display.. they just said "if you aren't happy with the display, we'll take it back" (they actually did take it back, just because I decided it was 'too big').. I later got the smaller 23"..
