meeko, in regards to grey market deals. i am in the market for a nikon d300. i searched google and got a sponsor site called www.shopcartusa.com. They had the camera, normally $1800 for the body, at $1200 (it is advertised for $999 now!). this sounded great! i looked and they had great reviews. this set off a red flag though. so i searched the site name and found out there was quite the dark side. they use several different names but they are still scamming people. and one person mentioned that they bought a camera from someone similar (they are all linked), and something went wrong and nikon wouldn't replace the camera because the warranty wasn't covered in the US.
