You might not agree with it's actions. You might not agree with it's leaders. You might not even agree with it's people. But you must, at the very least, appreciate that it guarantees your ability to disagree.
Let's keep in mind that America isn't made up of just President Bush, or the Republicans. America isn't just the Democrats, it isn't just our government, it isn't just the blacks, whites, mexicans, or asians. It's not just the gays, the straights, the anti-war supports or the pro-war supporters. It's not just the Christians, just the Atheists, or anyone else. America isn't just the pro-life, or just the pro-choice. Not just the southerners or the northerners, not just the rich or the poor or the middle class.
America is all of these. Together. Living next to one another. Fighting against each other.Happy Independence Day, everyone. Enjoy your freedoms.
