This may sound corny, but getting out to the woods with my dogs every day is my primary defense against burn-out. It's a really fun interlude that I can look forward to each day, no matter what (unless the weather is dangerous – 2-3 times a years, usually). In addition to hanging out in a beautiful place, I'm able to feed off my dogs' ecstasy of simply running around having fun, I get some physical exercise, plus it gives my neo-cortex a much-needed break. (There are, of course, times when nothing can repel the repugnance toward work, but I always know it'll pass soon enough.)

I think you might just need something calming and refreshing each day to look forward to. (Something besides bonghits, or, heaven forbid, that salvia stuff.)

    • I've been looking forward to camping or cottaging all summer. You have a good point about making it every day though.

    • Even if it's just for half an hour or an hour. Definitely makes a difference for me.dog_opus
    • "Cottaging" - haha.calculator
