I looked at the work as an illustrator and thought
"Well done, you've got maybe one client... next week's edgy new wave throwback NY punk garage band on Universal Records a la YeahYeahYeahs"
Then I read the first bit of his biography "My works are predominately large scale photomontages; intricately composed canvases carved with the sumptuous imagery and vivid colour that bombards us everyday in glossy magazines.There is a careful and considered use and abuse of the stolen images. A high jacking of the usually banal and oversexed characterisation of the female form" and thought 'Silly self aggrandising arse'.
and then I read the second bit "Beauty's all-important symmetrical balance is grotesquely spiked creating a menagerie of distorted, garbled monstrous beasts. Where women are mere clotheshorses, pimped by big business to offload product promising the superficial and unattainable dream of perfection, my work chews up corporate advertising and spits it back to the tune of a different politics" and I thought a bit better of it. Its not a new idea, or even originally executed, but it does make more sense to me now I've read that and I do quite like it now.

- violence is violence. When sexualized it adds obscured pleasure to the harm man or woman.capsize
