Your town barely knows you, your state has only the faintest glimmer of your existence, whilst your country only appreciates you for the paltry amount of tax you pay. Your continent doesn't care, less still your world.

Lest you forget, this entire planet is only a tiny speck in a star system that itself is of little to no importance in a small backwater of a typical and somewhat meagre galaxy. The universe is, as far as we know, infinitely huge - everything and everyone you know now or ever will is of less significance than a chip off a grain of sand on a beach at the Sahara's edge.

This time next century, you will be dead, your memory gone and you will not be missed. I'm being generous - in 70 years, you will likely be dust or so much cured skin, buried 'til the next great upheaval.

You never were anything and never will be.

At best, you're quite good fertilizer.
