    i'll relate a story from the other day:

    i work in the tech dept at my company. they send out general info newsletters each month and they also asked for a holiday themed one in a month where it applies.

    when i got to work today i had received an email from a woman in the tech dept. she had told me she was deeply offended about the halloween themed email newsletter that i had created. (it was thrown together at the last minute 2 hours before the newsletter had to go out.) she was so offended that she was in tears all evening. i asked my boss about it and he said he had already discussed it with her and i offered to apologize personally, to which he seemed satisfied. i did not mean to offend her obviously, and sincerely apologized, but i couldn't help thinking about how absolutely bizarre. i've never heard of anyone being offended, deeply and personally by the thought of halloween.
