No prob into the US. You'll be asked to remove it from your case and send it through the x-ray, separately from the rest of your stuff. Won't damage the thing; mine's been to the US six or seven times times this year.
Keep an eye on it though, I was in Boston two weeks ago and somebody had theirs lifted from the xray station. Don't know what the outcome was, could have been as simple as one of the officers putting the bin in was in back in the stack before it was emptied. When I was going by they were unstacking all the bins, looking for it...
