    To clarify:

A Christian has an atheist view on Islam.
A Muslim has an atheist view on Christianity.
A Buddhist has an atheist view on Hinduism.
    And so on...

As long as you don't believe in every God in every religion, you're an atheist in some way. If you have absolute absence of belief in any deity, God or supernatural being, you're an absolute atheist and a jolly good chap.

    Regarding Christmas:
Jesus was not born in December, so if you think we celebrate the birthday of Jesus on December 25th, you're wrong. Actually it is an old pagan festival to celebrate the winter solstice (a part of sun worship). Therefore anyone can celebrate Christmas (or Yule) without being in conflict with their religion, or lack of one. They are just taking part in celebrating that the days are getting more sunny and the winter is heading to an end.

    • A Christmas tree is also a Pagan symbol.. and technically Santa could be seen as worshiping a false idol.ETM
    • BTW a solstice represents the middle of the season, not the ending.ETM
    • "The seasonal significance of the winter solstice is in the reversal of the gradually lengthening nights and shortening days."Lillebo

    • The Solstices are the shortest and longest days of the years. Technically winter doesn't even start until the winter solstice.ETM
    • Touchè. But my guess is that the pagans didn't bother with technicality as long as the sun would shine more and more...Lillebo
