Don't hate me for bringing this up or anything, but a ton of holiday-themed horror movies are this exact plot. Which leads me to believe that it's a common fear among people and, additionally, that it creates much stronger reactions from people disassociated with the tragedy. It resonates. Not eveyrone could say "I've been to a cabin in summercamp, or I've lived in the dorms, or I've gone hiking in the woods" or something, but everyone can say they've been to a holiday party. And, what's worse, is that people feel more vulnerable because their entire families are normally there.

The only thing worse would be an attack at a wedding, which I assume has happened.

    Either way, it's tragic.

    • Those movies are trumped-up tales of psychological breakdowns and human monsters.blaw
    • This is a tale of the very real domestic violence problem facing our country/the world.blaw
    • Three husband/wife murder/suicides in my area in just the past year. Awful.blaw
