I did this the other day - Just set up Joomla for the client to do their uploading/publishing etc, then just wrote a custom script that read the database fields, and pointed the flash slideshow at that script..
Most tricky part was tracking down exactly how Joomla put the data about the images into the database, once I had that down, it was a simple php/mysql query, echoing out the xml bits... Is this something you might be interested in persuing ?- Im such a nob - I meant Drupal. Fuck me, sorry. Still on pain meds for my teeth.mikotondria3
