Sadly, I think you're stuck with needing a BT landline contract if you wanted ADSL through phone. Cable options mean no BT landline, though with whatever package they dicate.
Only other route I could suggest is going with some kind of 3G card deal.
I hope someone can prove me wrong, as I object to having to pay (an admittedly nominal) sum to BT each month, just for the pleasure of buying internet with someone else (BeUnlimited, incidentally).
