Keep in mind that people make computers secure, not operating systems. There are TONS AND TONS of Linux exploits out there, even in serverland. The difference is that on the whole, the Linux admins are a more technical crowd that pays closer attention when holes are discovered and patches are released.
You all remember SoBig right? The patch that fixed that problem in Windows was available over a month before the first SoBig was released. And it was trivial to install, just like all the stuff you get through WindowsUpdate. People didn't apply the patch, and everyone got nailed.
Of course, I'm still running Linux on my desktop. ;)
