Many Mac users are artists, or people convinced to use a Mac by an artist of some type, who were lead to believe Macs are better for design, which was true about 8 years ago when Macs came with a video card and PCs did not. That is how they got the reputation for being better for graphics work.
Do you know why Mac released iTunes for PC? Because only about 2% of computer users use Macs. And many of those are educational facilities who got a good deal on a Mac lab. Apple knows they can only target 2% of computer users if they stick to Mac. That's not a wise business decision. Microsoft ended Macintosh development of their products. That was a wise business decision.
