I went through something similar at Direct TV last week_
I was going into mid-day sit downs concerning rush deadlines only to have the ECD and CD say to me "This is wrong, there were changes."

My "team" was not emailing me copy changes or coming over to me to inform me of copy changes. They had 4 ENTIRE copy overhauls in 1.5 business days for a 4 page brochure. They also had a total of THREE copywriters working on the one job.

The full time designer that they also had working on the job (Her cover design was the one client approved), also did not inform me of her design changes to the cover. This was most surprising considering I was in direct contact with her multiple times through the day.

At the 3pm sit down after I was told items in my layout were incorrect, I made the comment out loud "I should not have to chance down copy changes, I should just be informed of them."

Needless to say that evening I got a phone call from the headhunter that placed me into the position. Direct TV felt I was not a fit.

Got a call today. Going to work with my old Creative Director from Christies Art Auction who is now at The Lincoln Center.

Heed this: Avoid the Acquisition Marketing Department at Direct TV. Very disorganized bunch. There is a difference between rush deadlines and true chaos.

    • I was pulled in as titled "Permalance Art Director"jteore
