there are things you can do with what you have... change the channels to find one with less interference and move the base station around. other people's wi fi, microwaves, baby monitors, etc., will all interfere with your signal, just a few feet can make a difference. also, the signal is line-of-sight, so consider the position of things. if you have the base station at one end of a wall, and you're on the other side but on the opposite end of the wall, you're going thru one wall at an angle that makes it 20 feet thick.
