There's no point in pretending to like someone. I think the main problem with faking it - is that your relationship isn't real and the situation won't ever change or improve.
Unless this person has done something really awful to you (like kill your first born), most of the time it's possible to get to a point where you don't hate them quite as much.
And if you don't air your grievances, they grow.
