it just looks like some short he made to get work, like every employable cg artist has a short like this and they don't get movie deals they just use it to show off their skills. This new trend reminds me of the 90s when every two bit film student was getting movie deals just because they made a grainy short that screened at a film fest. I guess this happens in every industry.
