    @utopian. The technique on that particular frame is Red / Cyan stereoscopics. This is often incorrectly referred to as Red / Blue 3D but if you think about it, you need colors that add up to "grayscale." On an RGB screen if you use Red on one eye you would need to use G+B (Cyan) for the other in order to get white when you combine both eyes.

    I made that frame (and poorly done animation that went with it) by eye using Illustrator and After Effects. I was really excited about making flat shapes appear at separate depths in space; not really making objects feel 3D so much as flat shadows situated on a Z axis. I'd been playing with this "flat 3D" idea for quite some time so it was easy to eyeball it. I didn't use any special 3D software or anything. Just put on glasses and drew it. But beware... Wearing 3D glasses too long will fuck up your vision for a while. Trust me on this.
