HAYZ1LLA - Apple + | is exactly that symbol when you have invisible characters switched on.
I agree with johndiggity, for this layout a second paragraph style would make more sense. Indent here is more suited to bullets and/or continuing paragraphs.
jysta - why not save PDF from InDesign? Why are you distilling?
