People are confusing the argument. There's Flash (the application) and then there's the .swf
I don't think anyone cares about the file type that you export to, whether it's .swf or HTML5.
The thing that makes Flash (the application) so great is the integrated creative workflow that allows designers, animators and coders to build quickly. At the moment there's no way a traditional animator or designer can quickly build something with rich interactivity. Without Flash there's no timeline and we're stuck with cheesy programatic animation.
When somebody builds an app like Flash that is useable, not made by programmers, and has a creative workflow that can be integrated into the web design process then the argument will be over.
I'm not sure why Adobe haven't done it already

    • It wasn't an issue until Jobs became a sack of shit. I'm guessing Dreamweaver will adapt a timeline for HTML5 eventually.CyBrain
    • Not aware of an alternative player. Flash and the file format are synonymous.comicsans
    • if the timeline matters why did they break it in CS4. All adobe cares about is RIA bullshitPIZZA
    • I can't answer your question. I have no idea why Adobe are so shit.Ancillary
