    it's not so much to lock the aperture as it is to lock the wheel, which is easily turned by accident with your cheek when you're shooting. i've done that before - accidentally flipped the wheel one or two clicks when shooting in manual mode, and found that my aperture setting has changed by 1/3 stop without me doing it on purpose.

    • i leave it on the _ the entire time; i agree it's confusing, rarely put it on oncuke426
    • not confusing, but i'd rather that functionality be a menu option somewhere elsecuke426
    • Depending on how you use it, a hardware switch to turn that wheel offsky2x
    • makes a lot more sense. Dial in your exposure comp and then flick a switch for the duration.sky2x
