  bigtrick,
  I dont think much can be taken design-wise from these websites already posted. None are "well designed" and none of them are great sites typographically.

  As Atkinson says, its the photography assets that make these sites look so good.

  If you want good classic design then look at good classic typography and printed material and take influence from that and translate it to a website design.
