I have to disagree, they are clearly not in grave danger. They subsist as-is with the large majority of their budgets coming from the private sector, and not the public. To be clear though, I'm not saying that we should cut funding, but rather that they will be just fine with out it if the Rethugs are able to pass this stuff.
Federal funding only makes up about 1 – 2% of NPR / PBS's current annual budgets – I think there are a good number of people out there that falsely believe they are somehow fully funded by the federal government, when in truth a cut like this is not going to end them, not even close.
