Yeah, I personally think that the price is fair, but expelling out of the free users doesn't really help. And as it was said in a few forums the only thing they will get is people compulsively creating new users to bypass the limitations for a few months/weeks.
They will not get more paid users by doing this... people who do not pay for a record mostly do so due to a principle/philosophy rather than being unable to pay for it... So they will move on to the next free service.
I own most of the records I listen to in spotify and I had my account forever. While it is more practical to search through the thingy than finding the files in my hard drive (not to mention in the bloody shelves) I don't think I will upgrade.
