    "Who is this Harry fellow?"

    Who's Harry?
Harry's the guy next door. Just a guy next door.
How do I know? Like you mentioned:

"just look at the image, the old film cameras in the foreground, the plate of biscuits"

So he doesn't own a DSLR. He is old. He probably just enjoy taking pictures. Like the millions out there this software appeals.

"they couldn't even get a real photographer to endorse it?"

Why? He's probably an amateur. He's Harry goth dammet. The photo-snapping Harry next door. As such he probably prefer a very simple solution to edit the pictures he gets back on a disc from the photoshop after his sessions. And...

"How many people do you know that use Windows Live gallery to view and edit photos?"

... probably do not want to pay extra for the more simple, standard services if it's already integrated and free in the operating system.

Following the link on the pic you posted, looking through the package, it seems that the bundle isn't bad for what it is.

You and I won't use it but for the gazillion windows users I think it's a step in the nicer direction. Seems easy enough to use for most.

    • This software won't appeal to someone without a DSLRmonospaced
