    You're mixing two different things under the same term here. Deep web is parts of the web that are not indexed which could be anything from old geocities pages or parts of sites a search engine can't get to. This does make up a high % of the internet.

    The anonymous assassin market/drug/illegal net we're talking about here isn't actually the "deep web" it's just what people have started calling it after a gawker article last week. it's more like a dark net/freenet so no it doesn't make up 80% of the web, probably more like 0.00001%
