    I've actually had great experiences with Dell.

    Currently using a Dell E4310 (2.8GHz i5 version), with 8GB RAM, 60GBSSD + 500GB HybridSSD drive (swapped out optical drive for it) and the total cost was Just under £500.

    It's a businessy laptop but it has a certain charm to it's appearance. 13" screen and pretty light.

    If your budget is higher, I'd recommend the Z-Series Vaio's. Absolute beasts of machines.

    With Dell, the only thing I'd avoid is their Inspiron range. Since the 1545 they've always been known to have problems in some form. My old 6400 still goes strong though. Go Latitude/Precision/Vostro

    Never go HP. I've had such shitty experiences with them and pretty much everyone I know with an HP has had trouble with it.

    • +1.... Like the studio ones, Latitude is junk-ware free too....
      Inspiron = Perspired - On
