I used to have a dell latitude as back up computer and in the odd case of wanting to use a PC. It was bulletproof. I cannot tell how much violence, liquids, shocks and falls it survived, and as vaxorcist says, you can buy most of the components through ebay. It lasted like 5 years of loyal service until mugs got into my flat and left with it. Shame on them, Through the years I pretty much replaced and upgraded every single component for close to no money. Sometimes is good to have a shit laptop that you don't have to look after.
