I don't live here very long but the first impression is that people here are very friendly and generous, the country is in ok financial state, and there is a lot of foreign companies and investors...I don't think that the flag should mean anything today, it is there for ages... I wouldn't mess around with history and culture by changing the flag...
I personally don't think that the lion with red claws is more scary than bear, eagle, hawk or any other lion...
one of the countries that has to think about their flag is Saudi Arabia... they have a saber on their flag FFS!?!?!?! now that could scare investors :D
