    I used to have an HP that would run hot and eventually shut itself down. I used a dirt cheap cooler stand with 3 fans and plenty of holes to help dissipate the heat.

    It worked pretty well.

    Some of them can be bollocks - Some of them even blow in rather than out! See if you can find one with a bunch of reviews.

    The one I used worked well, but it was ugly as fuck and cost a fiver on ebay. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/BLACK-… It was that one.

    With a budget of £10-£30 you can get yourself a decent working one that looks good too. I know Belkin and the higher-priced Targus ones have a decent reputation.
