  There's always backlash towards something fashionable. If you're old enough to remember, there was at the time towards goths, baggies, homeboys, shoegazers, wearing North Face everything (whatever that was called) etc etc etc. It just appears so much more prevalent and acidic because of the web which is marvellous for taking the piss and generally disliking.
