    It's not the bike alone, it's the whole ensemble, which no matter how pushed, no matter how personalised, merely across as a uniform for the self-involved and socially weak.

    The culture serves to consolidate the awkward truth that we haven't suffered a 'proper' existential threat for so long that we've let our younger selves become increasingly effete and emasculated, to the point of dandy-esque ludicrousness.

    When I see a guy dressed like Where's Wally in lederhosen, at the height of a London winter, shivering as he gets on to the train because he's gone out in fucking shorts and light shoes, of course I'm going to be filled with hate.

    it's not because I hate myself (I mean, I do), it's because I despair at our collective future,

    That said, I'm hoping to get a single speed wooden bike this year.
