They can, my guess is that you have to have the right combination.

I had that happen to me recently, we've known each other for a few years. I helped her buy a car, I made her a music mix with a photo of her, we went to a club one night and I told her how I felt. A couple weeks after she bought her car, she kicked me to the curb for someone else. I told her, that I feel like she bumped me so she can be with someone else.

All she told me is that if I feel or began to feel a certain way, it's because I did it to myself, I just don't agree with that statement, and I felt that it was a cop out. I was used and taken advantage of. I was hoping for more kind words from her, but that's not the way of the world. Her defense is I did this to myself, cry your tears in a bucket.

We used to go and hang out everywhere, and now all I have is memories. We see each other, once in a very while now, but, it's no more hug and kiss, not even a homie handshake. I feel so rejected and hurt by her true colors. My friendship with her has faded and finished. I feel hurt and betrayed every time I'm around her.

I was so close with her, she could've apologized, but it's not the way of the world. That's my cue to move on.
