  In brief, it works like this:

  0. Setup google apps account for your clients website

  1. Disable webmail through current hosting service, modify your hosting servers zone values to forward email to your google apps (gmail) acccount.

  2. client retains existing hosted email signature (ie: , )

  3. client can then use Gmail to check email or you can setup their existing mail client (outlook, mail, whatever) to fetch email.
