I came very close to becoming the Milkybar Kid when I was a kid.
My parents were going to take me and my sister to MoMa and they noticed in the paper there was a callout for finding the next Milkybar Kid, and every entrant got a free goody bag.
The plan was to go to London, do the first bit of the competition to get your goody bag then go to MoMa. About 6 hours later and I'm up on stage with the final 16 kids in the final, having to imitate my two favourite sports and my two favourite animals to a crowd of 'thousands and thousands' (what I imagined it was at the time, probably a couple of hundred...), and then shout 'The Milkybars are on me'.
My elephant/ostrich and snooker/badminton weren't good enough.
As a finalist I did get to walk home with a backpack completely filled with milkybars though and a further 3 deliveries of them as well, but we never got to MoMa...
