I think you have an advantage when designing for bicycles, as there are so many physical parts on the bike that can be illustrated in a nice or clever way... as opposed to a client with an intangible service.
Wheels, cranks, chainlinks, etc. Don't be afraid to use these things. Try to integrated them in with the type if you can. Use these components creatively.
I think these are nice. They can be simple, too.
