Material choice will affect color, price, and the overall appearance. Depending on local code, the choices are limited to high wind approved or even go so far as only allow cedar shake. You can special order tri-laminate composition that come in two colors or more per shingle. Real slate/fake slate, copper coated composition, terracotta and a variety of low pitch roll out roofing make the choice a subject of personal taste, local ordinance and budget.
