He obviously did something that he really wanted to do, and has no regrets. He is a happy man right now. These kids obviously caused him a lot of pain in some way and he snapped, and is actually thrilled that they are dead and that their families are suffering for even putting those kids he hates so much on this Earth.
You can see in other shots he smirks the entire time when the victims families cries. He couldnt care less, so putting him in prison is really a waste. He should be executed.
