I've lost 22 lbs since October, and have 10-15 more to go before I reach my current goal weight. If anyone's interested, here's what I did:
1) Count (usally by weighing) everything I eat. Then enter into myfitnesspal to keep track. They have a good calculator for determining calories, depending on your goal.
2) Lift weights three times a week. It's all based around power moves like squat, dead lift, bench press, barbell row, and pull ups (chin ups actually)
3) 20-30 minutes on my exercise bike 2-3 times a week on off days
4) cutout beer during the week (was hard at first, I admit)
That's it! The hardest part was getting in a routine of counting calories. Doing it in advance seems to be the best approach, for me.
