A perfect example that you can be very rich but still selfish and cheap. Too bad that this is done in the name of entire nations by the hands of governments. What a shame. What good would it bring to strip these unfortunate people off their last safety nets. Government officials mercifully agreed to apply some exceptions for items with sentimental values like wedding rings !!!! Very nice of them ! What will come next ? Are they going to pull "golden teeth" from the dead to recover the costs ?

- I don't want to defend this. I don't think it's fair. but, you should know all the facts: if the refugees decide to leave switzerland within 7 month,uan
- they get the money back. the law is in place for a long time, it's not new, like the guardian article seems to report. last year there were 115 casesuan
- where this law was applied. and there were around 30'000 refugees entering switzerland in that time.uan
- my point is, it's a problematic law, but it's only applied in rare cases. mostly to calm down the right wing positions in the government.uan
- because the right is troubled by the 1500 monthly cost for every refugee that enters the country. actually they are not really troubled, but use it to get votesuan
