I have CS6 currently. Looking to get CC because I receive files that won't open with my old CS6.

I've been out of the loop as to what Adobe's offerings are and how CC works. Is the software installed on my computer? Is it in the cloud?? Can I use CC even if I'm not connected to wifi? I'm not sure how the "cloud" plays into it. It's a monthly charge to use CC, right? I just need Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign – can I get it for cheaper than $50/month if I only need those three programs?

    Thanks!

    • the software lives on your computer like before. the only time you need an web connection is once/month to confirm payment.Gnash
    • other than that it's much like old times. you can use cloud to store files if you choose toGnash
    • Thanks. So I can pay month to month, right? (not locked in to a 1-year contract for example).iCanHazQBN
    • yup. it just won't activate that month if you stop payingGnash
    • the only 'bargain' they have is for PS and Light room for $9/monthGnash
    • I see. Looks like I can save $100 if I pay for the whole year at once. Might do that.iCanHazQBN
    • if you pay "monthly only" its $75/month (without the yearlong commitment)Gnash
    • paying for a year in advance is definitely the cheapest way to goGnash
