Years ago my brother sent me a video to watch about becoming lucid and controlling your dreams. As fate would have it I fell asleep with it on in the background and for the first time in my life I had a lucid dream.

I was in a conservatory, looked out the window and saw a huge butterfly, about 5ft wide, flutter by. I remember thinking to myself 'butterfly's aren't that big, I must be dreaming'. At that point I realised I was actually dreaming. I remembered what Don Juan had told Carlos Castaneda about not staring at any one thing in particular as you'll lose it, but instead shift your eyes around from one thing to another. Then I became fully lucid.

There were two old witch like ladies in the conservatory with me and at that point they chuckled to themselves and said 'he's getting it!'.

I managed to manifest in to my hand by will a bottle of corona, which I put down, and then manifested an ash tray (important things). Then I woke up and realised the lucid dream video was playing in the background and must have triggered me.

    • I tried every night for about a week to replicate it by leaving the video on when I went to sleep but didn't have another lucid dream until about 6 months laterset
