Does it not seem crazy to anyone else that it's 'been out' for more than 6 months now and it's still vaporware for so many... these huge promo displays at all the local stores and big online retailers, games, accessories but the console is always out of stock. Shrugs.

    • Yes. I've had my money ready for months but it's sold out everywhere in store and online. And no, not paying a dime over retail price.monospaced
    • There are a dozen $500 ones on local craigslist, this is more stock than best buy, ebgames and london drugs etc combined right nowprophetone
    • And all I get is a "they arrive 2-3 units at a time, sell out within hour, no holds, no notifications, good luck"prophetone
    • "...but hey, please buy some games and a carrying case"prophetone
    • $500 is 66% above retail though. Fuck that. :)monospaced
    • prob for nintendo is by time they get around to ensuring you can waltz into a store n simply buy one, people like me'll be looking at used units or not at allprophetone

    • Regional taste is a funny thing. I got mine no problem, and Webhallen - the primary electronics place has plenty in stock and are running a money-off promo.face_melter

    • Of course they're on amazon, sold by people at 33-100% above retail. That's not the issue. I can get one today that way but it ain't happening.monospaced
    • eh? not ebay Amazon mono - sold at RRP.fadein11
    • vaporware to me I suppose because since launch everywhere has been sold out, esp first 3-4 mos, i've never seen one in the wild hahaprophetone
    • this is my simple point, this seems crazy to me, this is experienced nintendo, just make units and make sure vendors have them on shelvesprophetone
    • i'm no business major but this seems like a good plan imoprophetone
    • they never over-produce. that is good for their bottom line. the problem i have is the "buy console, wait for games" cycleimbecile
    • They aren't available on Amazon or eBay even close to retail. Not as of the date you posted this content.monospaced
    • Amazon UK they are - I'm so tempted to buy one.fadein11
    • i overpaid because i figured it would get even more scarce during the holidays and i wanted one now... but who knows, maybe production will ramp up?scarabin
