Well, I'm a cheapskate at heart and although I really like those AIAIAIs, I wound up getting the Status Audio CB-1 for $63 after reading the reviews on Amazon, which made them sound almost too good to be true.

I'm no audiophile and I have never owned a pair of expensive headphones in my life, so to me they sound pretty darn awesome. Great texture and clarity both on the low end and high end. People say the mids are a weakness with these headphones, but I thought they were fine.

I did a comparison with my old $16 headphones and the difference was immediate and clear.

I bought them because many people said they are super comfortable, and thus far they have been.

But they're a little bulky because of all the padding. They're also made entirely of plastic, which means they may not stand up to the abuse of travel. But I only plan on using them in my home office and in bed. So for me the compromise there is fine. And if they do break after a while, it's not like I invested big bucks.

Anyway, that's my story. Thanks for reading.

    • Also features a removable cable coming out of only 1 side, which was a feature I really wanted.nocomply
    • nice... and don't worry about the plasticmonospaced
    • Just a note for anyone reading this. Closing in on 2 years with these headphones and they're great. Use them at my desk almost daily. Super comfy. Great sound.nocomply
