Mega-Desk is moving along. Got a second Ikea Alex cabinet to support the left side, and the big countertop is arriving Sunday. Going to cut it with me neighbor, who is also giving me some free monitor stands he got when he bought some speakers.
Was afraid I couldn't get the Alex cabinet until end of June by delivery, but Ikea just opened up curbside pickup locally this week and I was able to get it this week ahead of the desktop.
I'll basically be ending up with the Karlby 74 DIY desk that's pretty popular online, but with a monitor shelf and pullout midi controller drawer. Building that with drawer rails attached to the cabinets, and an Ikea shelf I already have as the slide-out tray for the keyboard. My only concern on that is if the height from the bottom of it to the floor is too small for my legs to go without bumping the tray all the time. So, got risers for the desk if I need to raise it, and can go 4" up if needed.
