How come the Chinese/Cantonese here in the UK can live in almost every little town and city, setup the ubiquitous Chinese take-away etc... and we never hear about their story of racial struggle and fight against prejudice?
I mean to say, some really rough northern little market towns, very white population, really deprived areas, will have a Chinese take-away run by Chinese/cantonese and seem to be integrated perfectly well. At least we don't hear about racial abuse in the news (only at the start of the year when people blamed Chinese for coronavirus specifically).
Similar for the indian community here in the UK.
It appears to me, the story of racism and struggle against systemic racism within the larger society of the UK is being reported in the news as a very specific black vs white narrative.
Just feels like there could be either a lot more going on with other races that isn't being brought to light. Or that there's some positives to learn from...
