A few comments about the NFT energy issue. I hate to see all these knee jerk reactions from artists who think they are being responsible by not getting into the NFT scene based on one graphic...and a paper they read part of.....Like most things....it is complex...so do some homework
1. Reading Memo Atkens paper is good....it seems sincere.....but there are a lot of assumptions. It is not science. This is all new. Take it as one piece of information about a complex topic...not as gospel. That is how real scientists act.
2. There are many alternate takes on it. I have read things that say that art NFTs are a fraction of the whole blockchain....so don't just assume that NFTs are destroying the environment....it is not a simplistic issue. Google it...dig deeper...
3. Many smart people are working on this every day because they are aware that there are issues with blockchain and energy usage....ETH 2.0 is massively better and it is coming soon....and so on...
