There is a number of stories in America where professors who pretended to be black or latino, while actually being Jewish or Anglo-Saxon, have been fired/canceled/deplatformed, because it's cultural appropriation of someone else's identity. Men who do the same by appropriating female identity (trans), are not canceled. What is the difference?

Richard Dawkins loses ‘humanist of the year’ title for asking this question on twitter

Generally people get fired immediately for asking such questions. Don't ask questions which are forbidden.

    • yawn. fuck I hate twitter.inteliboy
    • How do people still not understand how one thing is a choice and another isn’t!?monospaced
    • Female identification isn’t a culture being appropriated. It’s a sexuality being expressed. It’s innate. It’s part of who they are down to biology.monospaced
    • Pretending to be what you are not for personal gain is totally different. You’d have to be a special kind of ignorant fuck to compare them as equal.monospaced
    • +1 monooey_oey
    • and dawkins didn't even make that assumption or group [fired/ canceled/ deplatformed]. again, the outrage missing the point as much as the SJWskingsteven
    • Normally you would assume the opposite: gender is in your chromosomes (does not change) and culture is something you acquire.drgs
    • The current interpretation is turned upside down: culture is something you inherit through race, and gender is a social construct.drgs
    • but that doesn't matter because you know race and gender are both social constructs right? i don't know why you let this stuff get to you, it's just activismkingsteven
    • The trans/gender discussion is for entertainment. The only thing which gets to me is the censorship, canceling, deplatforming etcdrgs
    • The principle which gives me the right to speak freely is the same principle which gives freedom of speech to people with opposite views.drgs
    • If I allow the idea that my opponent can be cancelled, I allow the idea that my own freedom of speech is not guaranteed.drgs
    • There are tons of people who do it for attention or to boost their subscribers/follower... on social media and thus for monetary gain_niko
    • So not much different than people pretending to be another race for gainful employment or for opportunities that weren’t available to them before_niko
    • If you are a shitty person, the cheapest way to appear better to others is to pick any of the trending virtual signaling topicsdrgs
    • and become the most radical version of it. Wokeness/transgender... in a nutshelldrgs
    • We see it with men entering women’s athletics, vying for scholarships or prize money. Likewise since we share 99.something % of the same DNA as_niko
    • ...dogs, and species are a social construct, we will probably see in our lifetimes some dude enter and win the Westminster dog show lol_niko
    • you wouldn't give a shit if it was a biological female competing in mens sports nikokingsteven
    • You can say that trans-movement is an extension of male dominance. It's not enough that men and women compete separately because men are so much betterdrgs
    • But men will also dominate women's sports. Of course biological women cannot return like for like.drgs
    • I don't give a shit about males competing either kingsteven, I just love the absurdity of it all. But I would draw the line if males were allowed to fight_niko
    • ...against females in MMA or boxing, and I'm sure even the most woke in the woke-sphere would feel the same._niko
    • the very idea of professional sports is entirely daft. teams buying players, paying people to punch eachother so you can guess who wins, leagues. hahakingsteven
    • lol, when you put it that way..._niko
