Olympic women up in arms for having to wear bikinis in certain sports.

    men: hold my banana hammock

    • 'certain sports' is beach volley. if men had to play in those it would be fair.uan
    • not sure what the controversy is, it shouldn't be mandated, let them wear what they want, but most recreational players choose to wear a bikini anyway_niko
    • but girls gymnastics has always been creepy, never understood that uniform._niko
    • @_niko well you can't really swim or play basketball in a suitgrafician
    • Also in swimming, (< that is a polo team btw) you're not allowed to wear anything else because you can cheat real easy...grafician
    • ...wearing a full-body swim suit that reduces friction and saves you a few seconds to even break Phelps' world record!grafician
    • Also the scandal was about a team wearing shorts instead of bikinis which was totally fine in that sport's context
Pink offered to pay their fine!

    • So no, you can't wear anything you like: https://abcnews.go.c…grafician
    • The controversy is men have to wear long long shorts that stop at 10cm above the knees. Women bikinis with a max. side length of 10cm. For the same sport.uan
    • When they invented beach volley the argument was to make it more attractive for tv broadcasts and it came through. It's only fair to change that rule.uan
    • Anyway, imo, they should all perform naked, as it was in the antiquity.uan
    • feminism used to mean the right to show as much skin as men and not be judged, now feminism means covering up as much as possible I guess. so much for progress_niko
    • That only is true if you think men should be the norm, which is a unilateral idea. Feminism is more about freedom of discrimination.uan
    • I don’t think the bikini thing has anything to do with feminism the movement.monospaced
